Spring 2013 Update from Gamma Alumni Assc #2

Gamma Alumni,

In this communication, I will cover the following topics:

• Rush
• A family focused alumni event w/ Cal Basketball
• The Deftos/Chang/Schad activity

Highly Successful Rush

Our Vice Archon Casey Doherty and well over 30 dedicated actives recently secured the signatures of 18 associate members. After the third activity, 16 remain determined to make it through friendship week to become active members. Rush events included a Sumo night, wine & cheese night with local ladies and many other activities. The Alumni board could not be more pleased with the recruiting skills that actives have accumulated.

Family Day with Men’s Basketball

We have recently discovered the Cal athletic office has many incentives to encourage groups to show to both Men’s and Women’s Basketball games so we encourage you and your family to join us for the Colorado game.

On Saturday March 2nd, a “Kid’s Zone” (face paint, inflatable basketball hoops, inflatable playhouse, etc.), Food Trucks and a Beer Garden will be open in front of Haas Pavilion at Noon. The game then starts at 2pm. Group rates are $15 adult and $10 kids 12 and under. If our group is big enough, 6th graders and younger will be invited to the court for a “fan experience” (High fives and/or group picture with the players.)

For those not following, our team is having a bit of a turn-around in the final weeks:

If any brother is interested in joining on March 2nd, please contact us (gamma@calpikappaphi.org) at your earliest convenience and let us know if we can add you to the ticket list.

Deftos/Chang/Schad Memorial Pledge Activity

The Deftos/Chang/Schad Memorial Pledge Activity will be held on Friday, March 8th at approx. 8 pm at the Deftos Memorial Tree on Strawberry creek, downhill from Moffit Library. Please contact us (gamma@calpikappaphi.org) if you plan to attend.

Thank you,
